TowerXchange Meetup Africa 2024
Designing sustainable solutions to meet the tough demands of the African climate.
Our global sales team, joined by our CEO, Michael Norgreen, recently attended the TowerXchange Meetup Africa in Nairobi, Kenya, where we had the opportunity to showcase Vikinor’s innovative solutions at our booth. The event highlighted the unique challenges of Africa’s towerco infrastructure development, particularly in rural and off grid areas where reliable power and protection are essential.
In response, we presented our Ultra Rural solution – hybrid solar power and battery system engineered to meet the demanding conditions of rural Africa. This solution is designed to operate reliably in harsh environments, including areas affected by seismic activity along the Rift Valley. Our technology aims to support the sustainable expansion of Africa’s telecom network while ensuring energy efficiency and resilience. The discussions at TowerXchange emphasized the need for infrastructure that not only withstands Africa’s climate but also contributes to a sustainable future that protects the communities and nature surrounding infrastructure sites.
We took the opportunity to stay after the event, spending a week in Kenya and two days in Uganda. This was a time for our CEO and our global sales team to connect with existing customers in the area.
